Burns & McDonnell Entry-Level Drafting Technician in Wallingford, Connecticut
Our Drafting Technicians are responsible for revising existing drawings and preparing drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches. This position successfully plots drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns the practices of a selected discipline. Other duties as assigned.
Opportunities as a Drafting Technician exist in multiple market segments and locations. Specific assignments and project work varies depending on the market segments and locations.
Associates or Bachelor's degree in CAD or related program strongly preferred.
High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification required.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Mastery of basic commands of at least one type of CAD system
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
