Burns & McDonnell Entry-Level Drafting Technician - Minneapolis-St. Paul in Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota

Description

This position is responsible for revising existing drawings and preparing drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches. This position successfully plots drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns the practices of a selected discipline. Other duties as assigned.

Opportunities as a Drafting Technician exist in multiple market segments and locations. Specific assignments and project work varies depending on the market segments and locations.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in CAD or related program strongly preferred.

  • High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification required.

  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

  • Mastery of basic commands of at least one type of CAD system

  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.

  • Involvement on campus or in the community.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
