Burns & McDonnell Deskside IT Intern - Corporate IT (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Assist with installation, repair and replacement of computer and computer-related hardware.
Assist with troubleshooting and installation of Windows, Microsoft Office, and other standard software packages.
Ensure accurate inventory of devices and their assignment to users through detailed documentation in ticketing system.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of Audio Visual (AV) related issues, including meeting setup support, hardware warranty, or cabling issues.
Assist with AV support during presentations and company-sponsored events
Assist with IT processes for daily and project-based activities.
Assist with support for customers in all Burns & McDonnell locations via phone, video, e-mail, and in-person to resolve issues.
Assist with incidents assigned from other IT groups or non IT sources.
Assist with identifying and documenting accurate resolution steps for recurring issues in knowledgebase.
Assist with training and education to Burns & McDonnell employees on usage of IT systems.
Participate in Problem and Change Management processes as necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
In pursuit of Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, cyber security or closely related degree.
Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
